This day

What a great day this was. It was so wonderful to have Andrew home with us this year and have Mike's family join us for Thanksgiving dinner. It was so good to visit with everyone and think of all of our blessings, and have so many of them present in our home.

See the leaves on the table, my niece Abby and Grandma picked those up from our back yard, they added a nice fall touch.

Sitting down to a wonderful meal, we had Turkey, Ham, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Sweet Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, 3 Bean Salad, Spinach Dip, Rolls, Cranberry Sauce, Olives (a must on Thanksgiving) and Cream Cheese Rolls, or as my mother always calls them Buzzard Guts (It's a Claridge tradition) and my mother-in-law made, apple, blueberry, chocolate and pumpkin pie, of course we had whipped cream and ice cream to go with the apple pie. Two silly things happened as we were getting started, Norma, wanted to brown the marshmallows on her sweet potatoes and they caught on fire, luckily we salvaged the sweet potatoes and had more marshmallowes here to brown on top. My mother-in-law also mistakenly put sweet mustard sauce on her potatoes thinking it was the gravy, what a flavor shock, evidently a couple of other people did that as well.
