We are actually in Gloucester, but it is pronounced as above, we were corrected several times. It is very hard for a Westerner who learned how to pronounce things phonetically. We stayed 2 nights in the Thomas Riggs House. Thomas was married to Mary Millett (Thomas' aforementioned in the first blogs daughter). The original cabin was built in the 1640's or early 1650's.

Mike in front of the home. Our room was the 2nd story window on the left. That part was built around 1753. The original is to the right.

This is the original part of the home.

Downtown City Hall - They have amazing archives in the basement. It truly was a treasure trove of information.

Fisherman's Memorial. There are 3 Milletts listed at this sight. A lot of Fishermen lost their lives at sea. If you saw the movie the Perfect Storm, it was about the fishermen from Gloucester.
We drove to Manchester (By the Sea), and on into Salem, where the Witch Trials were held. Then back to Gloucester, where we endeavored to find the Light House.

That tiny light you see above my head is the lighthouse. By the time we found it, it was dark and the wind was blowing quite hard. Mike walked a quarter mile on the break. I was worried he fell in as it took him so long to get back, he didn't have a flashlight and there was no railing. But he made it just fine. Another great day in New England.
