We got up VERY early to make our 6:30 flight. We almost missed it because the flight information had changed after Mike printed up the boarding passes, and while we were waiting patiently at gate 6, they announced the final call for flight 1132 to Newark, and called out our names. We rushed over, got checked in and boarded the flight. We arrived ahead of schedule, and were reminded what a small world it is, the person sitting next to me on the flight was my niece Jodie's friend Nicole Montgomery, on her way back to New Jersey for some training.
On our way to the Airport
On the way to dinner at Bubba Gump's - grabbed the scarf because it was cold and rainy, the very light jacket I brought was not enough cut the cold. Bubba Gump's is famous for their shrimp, but Mike had steak and I had salmon, very good though!
At Times Square
Look at all those people!
Our bus tour in the rain - Empire State Building
NYC Library
I look RIDICULOUS! Even though it was raining we decided to buy CHEESY New York jackets and take the night bus tour, we were soaked through even with these "rain slickers" which seemed a little bit more like garbage bags with hoods.
This is a bad shot, but the NYC skyline from Brooklyn was worth the soaking, an amazing sight!
Notes about New York City -
Keep moving, never slow down, or you will get ran over. People aren't rude they are just on their way somewhere and determined to get there.
Stay to the side in the Subway or you will get ran over as people run to catch their train.
Though trash gets stacked up in bags on the sidewalks, it's gone the next morning. So strange to a westerner who has a trash bin.
People of NY are generally very friendly and helpful.
