"Funny and weird, but still great!"

Hey family! This week was pretty cool. We taught a guy that says that his pastor made some weird symbols and now he sees spirits and they're messing with him. He went to the church on Sunday and liked it, but now he's in another town close by for some treatment. We think he's really just suffering from the effects of depression, but he really liked the church and the first lesson. We'll see how it goes after he gets back. I might get transfered next week. They're wanting to mix the missionaries from the cuiaba mission with the manaus mission, so the missionaries of the cuiaba mission can teach the missionareies of the manaus mission to be "diligent in keeping the rules" and the manaus missionaries will teach us how to work with members... we'll see how it all works out. It might mean that i'll go up even more north or i'll stay here with another missionary from mission manaus. president jayme is less strict than president milder. Our allowances went up about 30 reais or 15 dollars. We can clap and stuff during our conferences now. We now have a mission hymn and symbol and broche. It was kind of funny the first conference. We were all there 30 minutes early and everyone was standing when he entered and he looked at us all surprised and said "it's ok, you guys can sit down, i'm not a general authority." and what caught us more by surprise was after a duplet of missionaries finished talking about the strengths and weaknesses of their area, the president and his assistants started clapping. Everyone was really confused. And when it came to sing the mission hymn, some of the missionaries called it apostacy... haha it's a great, new experience. Funny and weird, but still great. Thanks for the talk mom from David O. McKay.(It was really from Dallin H. Oaks, but close enough right?) Things aren't that much of a burden. They're a bunch easier, and one day, if i become senior in my mission, i'll do things differently. I hope your fingers got better dad. That's pretty great that Greg's family thought he was joking when he got called to idaho. That's pretty much the cliché mormon joke right? At least the church is well established there...  Can you guys do me a favor and hunt down a book for me for when i get home? It's not in print anymore so i don't know how difficult it is to find, and you can use my money to buy it. It's called "Mormon Doctrine" by Bruce R. McConkie. Maybe you guys have heard of it. .........

So that's it for today, i'll talk to you guys next week! Thanks for the emails. Love you all! See ya

-Andrew

I bet you have a copy of Mormon Doctrine, don't you? Too funny, they think everything they hear is a new concept.
