hey family!
yah, i think that they weren't wanting to get married or baptized, and just were looking for a church where they could sit back and just feel good like a bunch of the other churches around here. and most likely their family and friends weren't much of a support either. we do have another family that's a lot more interested, and is excited and happy for us to come over. we talked about the gospel of Christ yester I got the card in the mail today. it was kind of funny because i opened the card and was reading to a bunch of people because it was a hallmark card, and we all expected it to be a super message, and then it started talking about "sorry for screwing up... i hope you'll forgive me" and i started getting really confused until i read the message inside, and that you just didn't have any other card to send it in.. haha. it was a pretty funny awkard. that's cool that the registration is all good to go. I'm seeing about the flight plan now again. I just called the Executive secretary and he said to me to call him in like 15 minutes when he's back in the office so he can email it to me. I'll forward it to you guys today. for our proselyting things are going well. We got a reference of a boy that wants to get baptized, but it's probably because he wants to date his friend that is in the church. his mom isn't happy with the idea though because they already have a church, but he doesn't go to their church neither wants to. that's cool that you guys went to the lake. that's cool that the missionaries pass every week... do they use a car or bikes? ..or both? today we played soccer, and had a big bday bbq for one of the elders in our district. it was pretty funny. there's a weird brazilian tradition to smash eggs on the bday person's head so we got him by surprise after we had sung "happy birthday to you." then he went crazy to try and get egg on everyone else. It was a pretty hilarious bday party. so in the mission field there starting up a new auxilary teaching program. it breaks from the pattern of teaching, and helps us to modify lessons during lessons, to fit the needs of investigators and follow the spirit. I thought it was a great idea. usually what happens is we stick to the lesson plan outlined by Preach my gospel, and if someone has a question that is off subject we would answer it quickly to return and finish the planned message. so we've been trying that out this week. it also includes praying on your knees with the investigators and when someone makes a question, not being afraid to follow that course and explain, even if that means not teaching all that was planned for that lesson or mixing in ideas from other lessons.
have a great week, love you guys!
