EXCITING Things

Everyone watching the U.S. Soccer game

Me in my Brazilian headwear for the game

This is what happens in the street when Brazil wins

Elder Whitlock and I at a wedding, I got a new hairdo cuz my companions kept complaining about it.

Elder Dorneles. His name is made up of two portuguese words put together which means "hurt on them" ("dor" = hurt "neles")

hey family!
everything's going well here. it's been pretty hectic in our house because the missionaries from the other side of Itacoatiara are still in our house. They've cleaned the other house where they're going to live, which only leaves cleaning the house they're currently in... We have a baptism for an elderly man to be baptized this Saturday. The branch is excited because it's their first baptism in a few months, and we're going to break in the new baptismal font. They've been g etting organized and having the normal meetings that are necessary for their growth, and i gave them a few ideas in the last meeting of following up with people that are assigned to make certain visits. And what was even more exciting to one of the branches here is we brought
5 men to visit the church yesterday and play soccer with the members. We made a contact with a man in the front of his house, and it turns out there's 5-6 men living there that are working for a company in selling pictures door to door. So it's been way cool teaching them, they pay alot of attention and make good questions... some of them don't know how to read, so the ones that do help each other out. They're all pretty fun people. last week was pretty cool, because we played soccer and i've been improving a bunch. I think i'll look for a soccer club after the mission to keep going with it. We played basketball on Saturday with some investigators and we're developing a
good friendship with them. The world cup is in the end. Holland or Netherlands as they changed their name to, is in the finals, and will play against the winner between Germany and Spain. The brazilians got all let down because Brazil got defeated, but it was pretty normal for us. There were people that were crying and stuff.. they did ok though. I almost forgot about independence on the 4th of July. E. Whitlock mention in the morning, "well, it's our nation's b-day." Then i stopped and realized it was, but we didn't plan anything special for the day. probably should've at least gotten ice cream or something. I won't even be able to see the package unless i get transfered in two weeks, or until the zone conference in 4-5 weeks. thanks for the emails. Talk to you guys next week. Love you guys!
love,andrew
