Hey family!
I'll be heading out on August 31st. I sent the letter out for the grades about a week ago, and knowing brazilian mail, it'll probably take a while. I still need 3 science credits and that's it to get my associates, but i would like to take English 102 and maybe 101 and one of my old math classes again, so i can finish my associates with a little higher gpa. Elder Whitlock, my companion when i was there in Manaus. He's actually here with me right now, because we went and visited our old area here after conference. Our zone conference was yesterday, so we left Monday night and headed to Manaus. We played soccer this morning and watched the game with the U.S. against an african team, and it was a pretty dramatic little game. The judges took away a goal that the U.S. team making another lousy call for a non-existant penalty that the cameras showed pretty well. But in the last 5 minutes of the game, the U.S. made a goal and won. After we visited a few members here. The great news about the World Cup is the U.S. Is in 1st in their group, so they'll go to the round of 16 teams here soon and run into a not so difficult team because they came in first in their bracket. Brazil also is doing well, they've won both the games they've played, but the people here are starting to doubt about their ability to make it to the end, because Brazil didn't draft a bunch of their better players. The world cup is the main focus right now. There's even a little phrase that the world cup advertising has been using - "The World Cup - Nothing Else Matters". and that's pretty much how Brazil has been treating it. But we have a baptism planned for this Sunday. It's a 12 year old boy we met at lunch with some members one day and they introduced us and we marked a time to teach and taught him last sunday. He's already been to church a few times and it looks like his cousin will baptize him. Sounds like Girls Camp was fun. You guys should have another father's day this sunday, so that way you guys have all the energy to celebrate! I hope you guys have a great week. love you guys. Until morrrre.
