Hey family!
It's good to hear Arizona is getting some rain. It seems like the rain here is going away.. It did rain yesterday, but it hasn't been raining quite as much during these last two weeks. I think that northern brazil is starting to go into it's summer time, which means, it's just not going to rain as much and it gets even hotter. I'm glad you guys liked the picture of the chicken feet. Like i said, it tasted like the rest of the chicken, just there's not much meat on the feet. the only real food I still haven't gotten used to is fish here, because i've heard some bad stories with the little tiny fish bones that people accidentally eat, and end up going to the hospital to get out. we're usually pretty busy with going on splits with the other missionaries. monday we gave a training while president interviewed the missionaries. dad asked if we get a car, but nope, we don't get one. neither the assistants. It's just a president thing. He gave us a ride back to our area on Monday after the interviews, and we got to know him a little better, because we usually don't get time to have a conversation with him. Last night we had a pizza party with our district. It was pretty fun, we've got some members in our ward that have a little pizza place, and they made some nice american pizza for us, with stuffed crust pizza, a lot of tomato sauce (which is not a normal Amazonian thing), and thick crust (which is also not a normal Amazonian thing). 8 missionaries filled up on two pizza and we couldn't even touch the third, so we left it for this morning.. haha. We're going to go to the center today so i can look into getting a snake skin cover for my bible and a leopard cover for BOM, D&C, and PoGP.. is it called a triplet? We rescheduled last weeks baptism for this week,... and we're working with some nice families that i think soon we'll mark marriage. It's a normal thing to not get married, but just live with another person for a while to make sure there "the right person" and then after a few years and kids, maybe think about marriage. People here have to pay the government to get married, so usually it discourages people from getting married, so it's really really really rare to find a couple that's married. Congratz to Zach for getting into the CTM. Missionaries usually grow really close to the group that they arrive with in the CTM during the whole mission. I still see Elder Leitch a few times every month.. the other missionaries from my group are still in Cuiabá or went to another mission.
It was great to hear from you guys again. Have a great week. Enjoy the rain :) Love all you guys, talk to you next week!
Love, Andrew
